According to the 2006 World Series of Poker champion, Jamie Gold, he would be happy to be recognized as the all time best bluffer in the world of poker. But if his last tournament is any sign, his wish may not come true at all.
The site is the 2007 Doyle Brunson Five Diamond World Poker Classic held at the Vegas Bellagio Hotel Casino in 2007. Featuring $50 - $100 blinds and a $15,000 buy-in, Darrell Dicken is just barely holding on. The seat 4 player has just raised his bet to $300, a pretty small raise with only one player taking the bait. “I put him as being weak,” Jamie said, “I was thinking about raising, but instead I just called with a 10-3 of hearts to see what would happen.”
Jamie thought that Brad Booth would make some kind of move, which he did. He re-raised to $1600 from the big blind. Gold was thinking that Booth had a decent hand, but he was in an excellent position to make a move considering the quantity of dead money in the pot. Dicken ended up folding, and the unknown in Seat 4 called Booth’s raise.
At this point there was over $4000 in the pot, so Jamie wagered another $4000. His thought was, only if someone else had aces or kings there would be no possibility they would make that call. Jamie’s strategy was to make a sizeable move on the flop, as long as no ace was dealt. The second part of his strategy was to get Booth to fold, which he did. Booth folded with pocket queens.
Coming out of the flop there was an ace of ace-6-5, two clubs. The player in seat 4 checked and Jamie bet $2000. Jamie’s first thought was to make him think that he had clubs. Seat 4 tossed out a $10,000 chip, but didn’t say anything thus changing his raise into a call. Jamie’s thought was that seat 4 definitely had an ace, but you have to protect it in case he hits his set on the upcoming card.
A 2 of hearts was dealt on the turn, and Jamie quickly folded to what he thought was a top pair kicker. Seat 4 displayed a king-jack off suit. Seat 4 overpowered Gold by bluffing with a superior hand, he created a great poker play and continued with the bluff all the way through to the finish.

Texas Holdem’ was a game available only in hotels in Vegas or from video poker machines, but now it is more in style than ever in Sin City thanks to the TV and the internet.
The famous Venetian Resort Hotel and Casino, is now betting on this popularity with its new audience-participation show called “The Real Deal!” in its Venetian Showroom, beginning in October.
This new idea will unite comedy and game show elements to entertain its live audience. The audience will also be able to participate in the popular game of Texas Holdem’ alongside the the best poker players in the world. Many prizes are available for the audience including a chance to win 1$ million.
In “The Real Deal!” the audience will play with players like Doyle Brunson, Phil Hellmuth and Daniel Negreanu. Around 10 of the best poker players in the world have already signed up for the show. The audience will be able to play along with the 90 minute game thanks to handheld, wireless, touch screen devices located on each seat.
“People who come to Las Vegas casinos want to play different types of poker games,” Negreanu says, “but obviously they can’t play in a big game with the players like Doyle or Phil Hellmuth. But, in this show, they actually can.” At the start of the show, six audience members will be chosen to sit at the poker table on stage with two pros. Each audience member is then involved in the action by being dealt a unique poker hand on their devices. Everyone in the showroom is then involved in the action with big-screen monitors located on stage.
Creators of the show say that you don’t have to be a poker player to take part in the poker game. There are other ways to boost your point total, that doesn’t involve playing poker necessarily. Betting on the suit of the next poker card or trying to guess which state a particular audience member is from, are just some of the ways to come out a poker champion in this game.
The show’s creators are also betting on the great personalities of the professional poker stars to create some exciting moments. People like Scotty Nguyen, the flamboyant five-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner, definitely knows about entertaining the crowd and is a sure bet for some great TV moments in this upcoming show .

The NFL Regular Season is about to start, and some people are still a little puzzled about how to bet on the total of a game. Basically the way it works is the sports book website will create a total for a specific aspect of the game and the bettor will either guess on the points going higher than the amount set or lower.
The most common over-under bet at any sports book would be the total points scored by the end of the game. The best example is from the online sportsbook pinnacle sports, which has the total of the Redskins vs. Giants game at 41 points. If you were to guess that the total points scored by both teams combined will be higher than 41, you would have to risk $110 to win $100 (the odds are the same for the under).
You may notice other sports books posting a total with a half-point, for example the sportsbook sbg global has a total of 38½ for the Bengals vs. Ravens game. The idea of the half a point is basically to avoid a draw if the total points in the game actually add up to 38 points.
There is another way that the sport book websites can adjust the line without touching the total, this is by moving the money line. For example the online betting website intertops sports has the odds the boxing match between Marquez and Casamayor at 9½ rounds with the over at -350 and the under at +275. This tells you that the favorite is the match lasting 10 rounds exactly.
Now you should be an expert at betting on the total points, so take a look at your favorite sportsbook for more total odds.
