The Future of Gambling

The United States government has been extremely busy in the past few years, passing more and more laws that make it more and more difficult for online poker rooms and casinos, as well as their traditional, brick and mortar counterparts, to function. With these increasingly more and more stringent laws, the United States government has made it clear that the practice of gambling is not encouraged in the United States for anyone, whether citizen or otherwise. Whether establishment proprietors attempt to earn their income through the Internet or through the traditional brick-and-mortar establishment, the government is there to lay down the law and take a massive chunk of the profits in the form of tax revenue.
With this emphasis on more and more difficulty in the United States for gambling establishment proprietors, it is only natural for organizations such as the Las Vegas Sands and all manner of online poker rooms and casinos to seek friendlier locations to expand their global operations. As more and more of these corporations begin to do just that, in the form of the multitude of projects that are currently underway in a plethora of ongoing construction projects in all manner of international and global locations, there is some concern over the future of gambling and gaming as an institution in the United States. As the government becomes more and more strict, allowing fewer and fewer options for gaming, there is sure to be less and less establishment proprietors interested in remaining in the United States on a long-term basis.
Considering the level of resistance that most forms of gaming and gambling have encountered from government sources in the form of laws and regulations that prohibit many forms of gambling, as well as exorbitant taxes on gambling income for both proprietors and players, it is not surprising that so many institutions and organizations have found it necessary to look outside the United States for relief. With this emphasis on foreign locations for new development, the corporations that were originally American based and American owned, as well as proud to do the majority of their business in the United States, have become globalized and focused on international affairs, rather than remaining stagnant in the United States market.
Until the United States government relinquishes its seemingly pathological crusade against gaming and gambling in general, the future of the sport inside the contiguous United States looks grim indeed, as more and more establishments move their business wholesale to other nations.
