Avoiding Diversions when playing in Online Poker Rooms

Writing by admin on Wednesday, 5 of November , 2008 at 7:40 pm

poker
The benefits of Full Tilt Poker compared to actual poker rooms are endless, but besides these advantages there are also a number of troubles. Internet poker allows recreational poker players the opportunity to play in pro Texas Hold em Tournaments with pro Texas Hold em players, but these non-professional Texas Hold em players ought to avoid any disruptions that could hurt their chances to win big money.

Many online Texas Holdem players become sidetracked by their environment, or probably by the internet poker webpage they are playing on. These interruptions can in truth cost them great hands and quite possibly their well-deserved Texas Holdem Poker chips. The game of poker is a game of expertise as well as absolute attentiveness, no matter if you are playing at home, or in a brick and mortar poker room.

Most likely, the biggest blunder that online Texas Holdem poker players commit is by competing in more than one table at once. The better part of amateur Full Tilt Poker players will assume that this is a good scheme, but at the end of the day it could prove to be a harm. This scheme of playing different Texas Hold em tables simultaneously will damage your concentration and at the end of the day cost you big. Don’t forget that even the best Texas Holdem players in the world can commit damaging blunders while concentrating their attention on a number of internet poker tables simultaneously.

Any given online Texas Holdem poker player, may at some point, find themselves playing several Full Tilt Poker tables at the same time, while watching a movie, reading their favorite poker blogs, talking on the phone to friends etc. This is a scenario that should be avoided if you desire to win online Texas Holdem games and make the grade for big internet poker tournaments. Remember to concentrate your attention on the other internet poker player’s wagers, their intentions, and your own online Texas Holdem hands if you desire to be the best Texas Hold em player.

Bodog Poker Event is expected to be a Huge Event

Writing by admin on Wednesday, 1 of October , 2008 at 6:15 pm

poker
The largest prize pool ever was announced by Bodoglife, with the main Texas hold em event giving away $300,000. The total for the eight day poker event will be over $650,000, over the course of the fourteen tournament event. The Bodog Poker event will begin Sunday, September 28th and continues through Sunday, October 5th. The well-known Texas Hold em tournament website will also feature six “Bounty” tournaments, where the contestants can win $109 in Texas Hold em credits for each Team Bodog poker player they eliminate from the poker tournament. The hottest poker players will be playing all conteders in the poker contest.

Team Bodog champ, Justin Bonomo, is indisputably excited about the poker championship. Throughout his poker career, the 23 year old has received around $1.4 million. He says that if you considered that the first Texas Hold em tournament was huge, you will definitely be astounded with this year’s Texas Hold em Tournament and the cash involved. He also challenges anyone that has the courage to knock him out of the poker tournament to step forward.

The first Bounty Tournament is going to be the first poker game in the championship on Sunday. Any poker player has the ability to buy-In right into this, and any of the other Texas Hold em games with cash. Or another choice is to win their way into the poker events through the satellites which are held every night during the poker contest week. Bodog will feature six bounty events and seven “Championship Events”, which will feature higher buy-ins and deeper stacks.

Bodog’s event will have thirteen tournaments which will lead up to the main Texas Hold em event on Sunday, October 5 at 4:00 p.m. E.S.T. This is the poker championship with a guaranteed $300,000 in prizes, regardless of the total number of players in the championship. All the poker players who want to enter the main tournament will have to pay $500 for the buy-in and in return will receive 10,000 in poker chips.

Poker is not just for The Greatest Poker Players in the World Anymore

Writing by admin on Thursday, 11 of September , 2008 at 2:32 pm

Texas Holdem’ was a game available only in hotels in Vegas or from video poker machines, but now it is more in style than ever in Sin City thanks to the TV and the internet.

The famous Venetian Resort Hotel and Casino, is now betting on this popularity with its new audience-participation show called “The Real Deal!” in its Venetian Showroom, beginning in October.

This new idea will unite comedy and game show elements to entertain its live audience. The audience will also be able to participate in the popular game of Texas Holdem’ alongside the the best poker players in the world. Many prizes are available for the audience including a chance to win 1$ million.

In “The Real Deal!” the audience will play with players like Doyle Brunson, Phil Hellmuth and Daniel Negreanu. Around 10 of the best poker players in the world have already signed up for the show. The audience will be able to play along with the 90 minute game thanks to handheld, wireless, touch screen devices located on each seat.

“People who come to Las Vegas casinos want to play different types of poker games,” Negreanu says, “but obviously they can’t play in a big game with the players like Doyle or Phil Hellmuth. But, in this show, they actually can.” At the start of the show, six audience members will be chosen to sit at the poker table on stage with two pros. Each audience member is then involved in the action by being dealt a unique poker hand on their devices. Everyone in the showroom is then involved in the action with big-screen monitors located on stage.

Creators of the show say that you don’t have to be a poker player to take part in the poker game. There are other ways to boost your point total, that doesn’t involve playing poker necessarily. Betting on the suit of the next poker card or trying to guess which state a particular audience member is from, are just some of the ways to come out a poker champion in this game.

The show’s creators are also betting on the great personalities of the professional poker stars to create some exciting moments. People like Scotty Nguyen, the flamboyant five-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner, definitely knows about entertaining the crowd and is a sure bet for some great TV moments in this upcoming show .

Slot Machines-The Universal Equalizer

Writing by admin on Wednesday, 14 of November , 2007 at 7:11 pm

While it is true that many gamers who experience high levels of success in Las Vegas tend to focus on games such as poker and other, more predictable styles of gameplay, in some cases, players travel to areas such as Las Vegas strictly for entertainment purposes.  With these gamers and gamblers who are more intent on enjoying themselves than on breaking the bank, competing against simple slot machines is all the action that they really desire from the gaming capital in the desert.  With this simple and easy to meet desire for simple and straightforward gaming at the slot machines, visitors to Las Vegas can enjoy themselves almost indefinitely at the Las Vegas hotels and casinos simply plugging nickels and dimes into the slot machines for fun.  Granted there are very few professional level slot machine players and there aren’t very many individuals who would argue the success ratio of these types of players in the long term, as there is very little chance that anyone can keep a strong winning track record going at the slot machines.  Slot machines are notoriously difficult to successfully win at on any kind of regular basis, as they are based on chance and the odds are firmly against the player in general.  The ubiquitous slot machines that are so common in Las Vegas are generally aimed at having a good time and providing a little excitement for the lower-level limit gamblers and gamers who very likely couldn’t possibly afford to compete in the higher limit games such as blackjack and craps.

This selection of slot machines is specifically geared towards those individuals who prefer to wager for nickels and dimes, rather than risk larger amounts for what could largely be referred to as entertainment gambling.  In the case of individuals who gamble for entertainment only, it becomes readily apparent that they are less concerned with actual victory and more concerned with enjoying themselves.  And with all the flashing lights and special effects, slot machines make up a big part of Las Vegas atmosphere for incoming visitors.  Greeted by the bells and whistles that accompanies these types of machines, the notion of casinos as a method of drawing visitors to Las Vegas into the playing of games is quite successful, as there are more and more slot machines being installed into these types of casinos all the time.  By providing the slot machine for the lower limit players, Las Vegas shows that it cares for even the visitors with the least amount of gaming capital to burn.

Texas Hold’em Poker-Cash Games Versus Tournament Play

Writing by admin on Friday, 28 of September , 2007 at 9:32 pm

Anyone familiar with the Texas Hold’em poker tournaments that take place all year round and are widely publicized on television and in other forms of media can very likely tell you all kinds of information about how to successfully play in these types of tournaments.  The play style of the Texas Hold’em poker tournament is quite well documented through these televised events, where announcers give the viewers a play-by-play of exactly what is going on and all the strategies involved in the assorted types of gameplay that are present on the viewers television screen.  With this ubiquitous display of Texas Hold’em poker tournament strategy, many players assume that they can sit down at a table and began to win right away.  This concept could not be further from the truth, as  play is far different from the strategies that are utilized in the cash game.  When playing in the professional Texas Hold’em poker tournament, there is a far different strategy at play than what the player might see in the same Texas Hold’em poker match, but in the form of a cash game.

The Texas Hold’em poker tournament player is focused on staying in the game until the bitter end, regardless of how many chips you finally end up with.  This concept is predicated on the idea that the winner receives a set amount, regardless of how many chips he crosses the finish line with in his possession.  Playing in Texas Hold’em poker tournament games requires strategies that include slow playing, bluffing and all manner of strategy that involves simply staying in the game to the final table.  By making it to the end, the poker tournament player is guaranteed a strong level of success.  By obeying the rules and strategies of this type of gameplay, the professional Texas Hold’em poker tournament player can ensure that they can compete on a regular basis in the tournament, with little chance of being knocked out unless they come across a more skilled player or are simply dealt a bad hand of cards.

While the professional Texas Hold’em poker tournament strategy is all well and good for its genre, the style of play involved in Texas Hold’em poker cash games can be a world apart, as the focus of the cash game is coming away from the table with as much money as possible.  In tournament play, getting to the end is all that matters.  But playing in cash games, ending the game with all the money is the one and only priority of the professional poker player.

Keeping this in mind, it is important for viewers of Texas Hold’em poker tournament games on television to understand the world of difference between the strategies involved in the two different types of gameplay.
